Follow Our Growth

Since our beginnings in 1964, Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital has served the Inupiat people of the North Slope and provided care for all within our region. But as time has progressed, so have the needs of our patients and our communities. And as we look towards the future, we look to the promise of our new hospital and our increased capacity to better serve the North Slope.

The new hospital, which will be four times the size of our existing site, will more than double the staff we have on hand and significantly improve the scope of services we can provide. With an expected completion in 2013, our new hospital will better serve both the people of the North Slope, as well as those who practice at Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital.
